The longest wooden footbridge in the Philippines can be found in Brgy. Cantiasay, Surigao. It ranges up to 391 meters and connects 2 islands of Nonoc and Hanigad.
Nonoc Island can be traveled via motor boat in less than an hour and
took a good walk of about a kilometer from Brgy. Nonoc to reach Brgy.
Cantiasay where the bridge interconnects.
The bridge serves as a means for the high school students of Hanigad island to get to their school in Nonoc and for the elementary students of Nonoc island for the same reason.
